Sen. Cornyn Visits Texas Tech, Tours Cotton Research Facility
Sen. John Cornyn toured the university’s Fiber & Biopolymer Research Institute with students and faculty researching the next generation of cotton.
The 32nd Session of the Texas International Cotton School: August 6-17, 2012
The cotton school is two weeks of classes, lectures, tours and hands-on interaction in all phases of cotton production, harvesting, ginning, classing, testing, preparation and processing, allowing students and professionals to better understand the global cotton industry.
Biopolymer Research Institute looks for ways to improve quality and value of area cotton
Even though cotton prices have reached historic heights in the past year, Texas Tech researchers said West Texas needs to continue developing higher-quality fiber to stay ahead of growing competition overseas and maintain a strong, long-lasting market for farmers.
